How it works

1. Enter the domain you want to look up — your own site or a competitor's.
2. The tool looks the domain up in our link index and lists the domains that link to it, ordered by authority.
3. Optionally paste source pages, one per line. Each page is fetched live and every <a> tag in its HTML is checked for a link to the domain.
4. You get the referring-domain list, plus a found/not-found result per page with its anchor text, rel attributes and status.

Where the data comes from

We build the backlink data ourselves. The referring-domain list comes from SeoMods' own link index, which we compile and process on our own servers and which grows every day. The tool shows the linking domains and how strong each one is. For the domains whose pages we have already processed it also shows an example linking page, that link's anchor text and rel, how many links we counted from the domain and the date we read the page — plus a link profile with the share of domains that have a followed link and the most common anchor texts. This page-level detail is still being added domain by domain, so a row without it means we have not processed that domain yet, not that the link is missing.

No index sees the whole web. A new or small site may not be listed yet, and a link that exists may be missing from the list. Read the result as what we have observed so far, not as a complete inventory of your backlinks.

What it shows

• Referring domains — how many domains link to the site, and the strongest of them.
• Authority score — SeoMods' own 0–100 score for each referring domain, derived from its position in our link graph. It is not a Google metric.
• Example linking page — where we have it, one page on the referring domain that links to the site, with that link's anchor text, rel, the links counted from the domain and the date we read the page.
• Link profile — over the referring domains we have processed: the share with a followed link, the nofollow / sponsored / ugc counts and the most common anchor texts.
• Link present — a yes/no on whether a page you supplied links to the domain.
• Anchor text — the exact clickable text used for the link.
• Rel attribute — whether the link is dofollow, nofollow, sponsored or ugc.
• Page status — the HTTP status code of the source page (200, 404, etc.).
• Indexing signals — whether the source page is marked noindex or points its canonical at a different URL.
• Link count — how many links to the domain appear on that page.

My sites: save a site and track your links

Free members get a My sites panel under the tool. Save a site and its referring domains open in one click — with the example page, anchor text and rel where we have them — plus a filter and a CSV download. Add the links you have earned by hand — guest posts, directory listings, partner pages — optionally with the anchor text you agreed on, then test a single link or the whole list whenever you like. Each test records the status, anchor text, rel and the time of the check, so a link that disappears shows up the next time you test.

Example

Enter yoursite.com. The tool lists the domains that link to it, each with its authority score. Paste a publisher's article URL in the second field and it reports Live, anchor text best project tools, rel="nofollow", page status 200 — the link is in place, but the nofollow attribute means it is unlikely to pass authority the way a followed link does.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the backlink data come from?

From SeoMods' own link index. We compile and process it on our own servers, and it grows every day. The page checks are separate: those are fetched live at the moment you run the tool.

Is the link verification real-time?

Yes. Each source page you paste is fetched and parsed when you run the check, so the result reflects what is in that page's HTML right now. The referring-domain list comes from the index and is refreshed whenever the index is rebuilt.

Why is my site, or one of my links, not listed?

The index does not cover the whole web, and new or small sites reach it later than large ones. If you know a page links to you, paste it in the second field or add it under My sites — the live check does not depend on the index. Is the authority score the same as Google's?

No. It is SeoMods' own 0–100 score, calculated from where a domain sits in our link graph. Google does not publish a domain authority score, and this number is not one of its ranking factors — use it to compare referring domains with each other.

Does a nofollow link still help?

It can drive referral traffic and add profile diversity, but it does not pass ranking authority the way a dofollow link does. Learn how to evaluate links properly in our backlink analysis & link building guide.
