SEO Tools for Podcast Hosts
Google cannot listen to your episodes, so it reads the page around them. These free tools help you plan topics, name episodes and fill that page.
Here is the problem most podcasters run into sooner or later: an episode can be excellent and still be invisible on Google, because Google indexes text, not audio. With the Google Podcasts app gone, the realistic path to web search is an episode page on your own website with show notes and, ideally, a transcript. Thin Content Checker shows when a page offers too little text to work with, which is typical for a one-line show note. If you run a full podcast website, All-in-One SEO Audit scans an episode page for technical and on-page issues and returns a 0–100 score with a fix list.
Directory search works differently. Apple Podcasts leans heavily on the show name, the channel name and the episode title, so a generic name that resembles an existing show, emojis, numbered titles or the same title reused across episodes make you harder to find. Apple also asks that metadata accurately represent the content, so packing titles with keyword lists is the wrong move, and ratings and reviews do not count toward its search ranking. What helps is a clear, specific title. Keyword Research shows how listeners phrase a subject, and Word & Character Counter keeps titles and show notes a sensible length.
Planning tends to be easier when it starts from real questions. Topic Research & Content Ideas can map a season from one theme, and Keyword Suggestion Tool pulls the questions people type into autocomplete, many of which make good episode prompts. Once a transcript exists, AI FAQ Optimizer can help shape it into a question-and-answer block, and AEO Checker looks at whether your show notes are structured in a way answer engines can quote.
If your show lives only in directories and you have no website, most site checks here will not apply to you, and none of these tools read Apple or Spotify analytics. They are free, run in the browser without sign-up, and check real pages and keywords live. To see which episodes bring people to your site, tag the links in your notes with UTM Campaign URL Builder.
