SEO Tools for Blogger Users

Blogger hides most SEO controls behind a few settings toggles, so these free checks show what those toggles actually did to your live posts.

Blogger has no plugins and no SEO add-ons. Everything that decides whether Google can find your posts sits in one place: Settings → Crawlers and indexing. That is convenient until a single switch there quietly changes how your whole Blogspot blog is treated in search, and nothing in the dashboard tells you it happened.

The riskiest of those switches are the custom robots header tags. Setting noindex on archive, search and label pages is a common tidy-up, but hiding content by tag can pull every post that carries those labels out of search as well. Run a few post URLs through the Meta Tag Analyzer to read the robots meta and search description Blogger is really serving, and let the Technical Site Audit (Crawler) walk the blog to flag any posts that slipped into noindex by accident.

The custom robots.txt deserves the same caution. Once you enable it, your text replaces Blogger's default file entirely, so one overly broad Disallow line can stop posts from being crawled. Draft the file with the Robots.txt Generator, paste it into Blogger, then test real post URLs with the Robots.txt Tester before you walk away. If posts still are not showing up, the Sitemap Finder & Validator confirms that Blogger's automatic sitemap is reachable and lists what you expect.

Custom domains add their own wrinkle. Blogger does not support naked domains, and HTTPS is only available once a custom domain is set up, so the jump from yourblog.blogspot.com to www.yourdomain.com involves several redirects. Owners who moved have repeatedly reported new posts not being crawled afterwards, which usually sends them digging through Search Console. The Redirect & HTTP Status Checker shows each hop from the old address, the naked domain and the HTTP version, so you can see whether every path ends on one HTTPS post URL.

All of these tools are free, run in your browser and need no account. Each one performs a live check against the URL you enter, and the scored ones return a 0–100 result with a list of fixes you can apply straight from Blogger's settings or theme editor.
